Notes:
- The team again sold jerseys at the Convention and sold via various gameworn groups and email lists.
- This is the last season for the Reebok Edge jersey.
- The league had all teams wear a patch to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the NHL. Oddly, they had most teams wear it on their sleeve under the numbers, rather than traditional positioning of the chest or shoulder. The Hawks wore them on their right sleeve. Also, the league wanted them worn only in 2017. So the patches were not added until after the Winter Classic, the 2nd set of jerseys for the Hawks.
- Most of the jerseys from the 1st set, which were worn on the ice without the NHL 100 patch, had the patch added as they were backups in case an extra jersey was needed during set 2. So, nearly all of the 16-17 jerseys had the NHL 100 patch, although only in the 2nd set and playoff sets were they worn.
- The regular season jerseys typically have 1 17 or 2 17 written in the neck to denote the set. Some jerseys may not have the writing in the neck, particularly if they were not on the roster to begin the set. They also have serial numbered set tags with the Indian Head in the rear hem.
- The Hawks wore a new set of jerseys denoted ‘P1 17’ in the neck.
- These jerseys featured the last of the fully embroidered serial number set tags, as the team would switch to a screened tag the next season. This season featured a shoulder tommy.
- The Blackhawks took part in the Winter Classic outdoor game in St Louis on 1/2/17, their fifth outdoor games where they played the St Louis Blues at Busch Stadium in St Louis, MO. The Hawks wore a white jersey which was an homage to the 1956 era sweater, with the shoulder tommies moved to the mid-sleeve, a crest modeled after the mid-50’s crest including the ‘necklace’ that appeared on them, and single color numbers. The Winter Classic logo featuring the Gateway Arch is on the right shoulder and inside the jerseys sewn in the rear hem is a Fanatics inventory tag, the first time Meigray did not handle the outdoor jerseys.
- Both the Hawks and Blues wore 4 jerseys for the game. Typical for every outdoor game the league has held. The first jersey is worn in the pregame skate. That set of jerseys goes to the NHL Player’s Association and they occasionally pop up in charity auctions. The other 3 jerseys are worn one per period. One period’s jerseys go to the players. One period’s jerseys go to the team to do with whatever they want and the last jerseys go up for auction on NHL.com along with goal pucks, game pucks, etc.
- For this game, the team got the third period jerseys and the 2nd (?) period jerseys went to NHL.com auction.
- The Hawks wore the Stadium Series patch and 1956 style crest on their practice jerseys the day before the game when they practiced outdoors. These jerseys were sold by the team.
- Hawks goalies had 3 jerseys issued to them and they change between periods. They wear the same 3 all season. A few other players also wore multiple jerseys – including Jonathan Toews.
