Notes:
- First time the Blackhawks wear Ultrafil material (worn in the regular season until 93-94 set 1) and first set of CCM branded jerseys.
- The regular season jerseys are the only time CCM is screened on the rear hem and it is much larger this season than any following season.
- The Hawks removed the nameplates and reused many of these jerseys in the following year's preseason. Many of them have the nameplates resewn on by the team following the 84 preseson.
- Some of the jerseys used this season featured the dazzle crests and numbers, while others did not. It's the last time the dazzle crests were used.
- The shoulder tommies used on these first year CCM jerseys look to be a mixture of open C and closed C jerseys. They were replaced after the switch to Sandow SK in 81-82, but as with the mixture of dazzle and non-dazzle crests, it seems that anything that was lying around was used. Photos show multiple players with the open C, including Savard, B Murray and Curt Fraser, on the ice at the same time with guys wearing closed C jerseys. This is the last appearance of the open C on a Hawks jersey.
- In the playoffs, the team switched to new sets of jerseys with a smaller CCM on the rear hem, similar to the 84-85 style and the jerseys appear to be mesh. Video evidence of the 1984 Hawks playoff games has not been found, but news wire photos have confirmed the smaller CCM and apparent mesh. Several mesh jerseys with the smaller CCM are in the hobby, it is unknown if there is any differentiators between 83-84 playoff jerseys and 84-85. All examples seen have been similar. See the 84-85 page for examples of these mesh jerseys.
