Notes:
- The Wilson brand V-neck Dureen jersey was used by the Blackhawks from 77-79.
- Nameplates were mandated by the NHL for full-time usage in 77-78. The Blackhawks did use nameplates on occasion earlier in the 1970’s for occasional televised games and most notably, for the 2nd half of the 75-76 season (thanks Casey!) until the playoffs began.
- The one example found of an intact 77-78 nameplate pictured below had a much narrower nameplate than the 78-79 examples. The wide 78-79 nameplates were actually sewn over the seam connecting the body of the jersey to the neck/yolk piece.
- It is extremely difficult to find jerseys from either of these seasons with the original nameplates intact. Many of the jerseys had their nameplates removed and they were sent to the Portland Winterhawks minor league team for their usage, others were used as practice jerseys by the Hawks and often not only had their nameplates removed, but sometimes they were also stripped of their numbers and re-numbered.
- Inside the jersey on the hip a year tag is found, 77 for the 77-78 season and 78 for the 78-79 season. Note that both red and white examples are found for both 77 & 78.
