Notes
- The Hawks switched to a V-neck collar for the first time in the 1965-66 season, switching from the tie-down neck style
- The V-neck also introduced a 2 color neckline for the first time. Black over red on the white jerseys and black over white on the red jerseys. Previously, the neck was black on both the red and white jerseys.
- The jerseys were made by General Athletic and are a light weight dureen material, The crest is the same style that was introduced in 64-65 and used with slight variations through today, and one color numbers continue to be used.
- Neck tagging included a Gunzo's Berwyn tag with a small size tag. There were two styles of the Gunzo's tag: one with "Sports Center" in cursive and a skater and a skate pictured. The other featuring the Goalieman logo and just Gunzo's Berwyn in block lettering. The size tag in the block style include the word Size.
- A theory is that the block lettering started in 69-70. More research is needed on that theory.
- Gunzo’s Berwyn location burned down on June 23, 1970. A General Dureen set was used in the 70-71 season, an example of an Esposito General Dureen with a River Forest tag has surfaced. It is possible the 70-71 set still had River Forest or Berwyn tagging. The River Forest tag is used beginning with the Wilson 71-72 jerseys.
- General Athletic tagging with wash instructions was found in the inner rear hem. This tag is often missing on jerseys found today.
- No fight strap was standard on these jerseys
- The General Athletic jerseys did not contain any tagging indicating year. There are some seasons when the crests appear higher than others. More research needs to be done to help determine any other consistent indicators of the year the jerseys were used.
- Jerseys of this era were sometimes recycled to the St Catherine’s and Dallas minor league teams for continued usage. After the season, jerseys were also often used as practice jerseys. Thus, it is possible wear is added to jerseys after the Hawks wore them.
- An example of the chain stitched crest being replaced by an embroidered cheaply made crest and used as a practice jersey has been found.

This Esposito was auctioned by Heritage in NOV23. It is potentially a 70-71 Game Worn jersey, although it has not yet been conclusively photomatched and has lighter wear. Of note, it is a General Dureen and has the Goalieman Gunzo's River Forest tag.
